TMEC: Meeting Targets and Main...taining Epidemic Control (EpiC)
more
|
Meeting Targets and Maintainin...g Epidemic Control (TMEC) will help meet or exceed PEPFAR targets for reaching adults, key, and priority populations by finding those who have not yet been identified as positive, linking those who are positive to treatment, and by keeping those on treatment virally suppressed. This mechanism will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that host government health systems and host countries in general are able to maintain program gains with appropriately decreasing dependence on PEPFAR/USAID. EpiC can support USAID's response to address COVID-19, by preventing, preparing for, responding to, and bolstering health systems to address COVID-19 and re-emergence. Within the scope, EpiC can support Pillar 2 activities, including emergency health response, strengthening global health security in affected countries, and health systems support.

Sustaining Technical and Analy...tic Resources (STAR)
more
|
STAR improves the effectivenes...s of global health programs worldwide by developing and strengthening the capacity of global health professionals by placing fellows and interns in external institutions, primarily in USAID-supported countries, and in USAID in partnership with academic and other institutions. STAR strengthens the technical and analytic professional cadre of human resources for global health by partnering with organizations of higher learning, development research, and/or health professional associations. Leveraging the expertise, resources, and partnerships of academic institutions and many other types of organizations, STAR contributes to strengthening institutions in developing countries that provide technical leadership and improve systems that promote technical collaboration across the global health community. STAR strengthens the pool of health professionals globally through field experience with developing country organizations, provides opportunities to diverse health professionals who mirror the populations USAID serves globally to build their skills and gain exposure to international health programs, and improves collaborative systems and long-term, sustainable partnerships for open exchange and utilization of information, knowledge, and educational resources to promote technical excellence and learning.

Family Planning (FP) Innovatio...ns and Capacity Building Platforms
more
|
The Family Planning Innovation... and Capacity Building Platform activity will collaborate with the Department of Health (DOH) to expand and institutionalize high-impact practices to improve family planning (FP) services. In addition to supporting the scale-up of proven high-impact FP interventions, the activity will build capacity of a variety of health actors to expand access to integrated, quality, and patient-centered FP services and introduce new technologies and innovations that will lead to a reduction in unmet need for FP services. Through initial assessments, key provinces selected will have a specific focus on areas with high unmet need for modern family planning and high teen pregnancy rates. ..FY 2018 funds will be used to: 1) strengthen health seeking behaviors among youth, women, and men, 2) fortify the quality of patient-centered approaches to family planning and adolescent and youth health services through national scale-up of targeted high-impact interventions, 3) enhance supervision and mentoring for public and private sector providers, and 4) support policies and systems that will bolster health service delivery. The activity will work with and build the capacity of local organizations to test and introduce state-of-the-art technologies, new approaches, and partnerships. The activity will also bolster the capacity of the DOH, local health system, and facilitate local solutions to promote self-reliance and sustainability, which are vital to achieving the U.S. government Mission Objective to accelerate and sustain broad-based and inclusive growth.

Medicines, Technologies, and P...harmaceutical Services (MTaPS)
more
|
The goal of MTaPS is to enable... low- and middle-income countries to strengthen their pharmaceutical systems to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, and affordable essential medical products and medicines-related pharmaceutical services. The purpose of MTaPS is to provide pharmaceutical system strengthening assistance for sustained improvements in health system performance, and to advance USAID s goals of Preventing Child and Maternal Deaths, Controlling the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, and Combatting Infectious Disease Threats, as well as expanding essential health coverage. MTaPS works to strengthen essential areas of the pharmaceutical sector, including regulatory capacity, supply chain management, pharmaceutical financing and services, and pharmaceutical management information systems. Within this context, MTaPS addresses USG priority health elements including malaria, HIV/AIDS, family planning and reproductive health, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, and the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). MTaPS focuses on enhancing pharmaceutical services through patient-centered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security. The MTaPS result areas address the five health systems components (governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery) as they pertain to pharmaceutical management, informing the design of potential interventions to ensure that they respond to health element and cross-cutting concerns in support of health system strengthening.

|

INGOBYI ACTIVITY - RWANDA SERV...ICE DELIVERY ACTIVITY (RSDA)
more
|
Ingobyi Activity - Rwanda Serv...ice Delivery Activity (RSDA)
more
|
The Rwanda Service Delivery Ac...tivity (RSDA) will reduce maternal and child mortality by improving the quality and effectiveness of health services across the country. While Rwanda has high rates of facility delivery and first antenatal care (ANC), newborn and maternal mortality are still high, uptake of family planning (FP) methods is plateauing, and there is a surge of new malaria cases. RSDA interventions will support improved quality of maternal and child health services, including ANC, integrated management of newborn/childhood illness, broad reproductive health and FP services, facility-based WASH activities, behavioral change and communication activities and malaria prevention and control services.

more
|
Sustaining Health Outcomes thr...ough the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus is USAIDs flagship initiative in private sector health. The project seeks to harness the full potential of the private sector and catalyze public-private engagement to improve health outcomes in family planning, HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and other health areas. SHOPS Plus supports the achievement of US government priorities, including preventing child and maternal deaths, an AIDS-free generation, and supporting the goals of FP2020. The project improves the equity and quality of the total health system, accelerating progress toward universal health coverage.

MEDICINES, TECHNOLOGIES, AND P...HARMACEUTICAL SERVICES (MTAPS)
more
|
|
