CAPACITY BUILDING OF CAMBODIA'...S LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

|
Capacity Building of Cambodia'...s Local Organizations
more
|
The Capacity Building of Cambo...dia's Local Organizations project will directly support USAID Forward goals by promoting sustainable development through the use of local partnerships. The project will support the development of new partnerships with local organizations and strengthen the skills of existing partners across all technical sectors. Environment partners in particular will gain from this activity and will in turn lead to more effective programming that will often support Cambodia low emissions development strategy. The project will help local organizations improve their financial management and human resource systems, develop strategic and operational plans, and strengthen their monitoring and evaluation systems. This project will also support USAID in implementing risk-mitigation procedures through pre-award assessments of potential local organizations and financial reviews of current partners.

|
Global Health Supply Chain - P...rocurement and Supply Management (GSHC-PSM) IDIQ - HIV/AIDS Task Order
more
|
Building on decades of USAID's... work procuring health commodities and strengthening supply chains, the Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management project is working to transform global and national supply chains for health commodities. The project integrates two former USAID programs into one efficient supply chain that serves many of the world's most vulnerable and difficult-to-reach communities. The project is designed to meet today's critical global health challenges - eliminating HIV and AIDS, providing universal malaria coverage, and helping women meet their family planning and reproductive health needs. By bringing together advanced technical solutions, a team of highly qualified experts, and proven commercial processes and principles, USAID Global Health Supply Chain works to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in global and national supply chains. In addition to optimizing supply chains, the project is strengthening national supply chain systems and fostering collaboration among supply chain stakeholders worldwide.

The purpose of the Health Poli...cy Plus (HP+) project is to improve the enabling environment for equitable and sustainable health services, supplies and delivery systems through policy development and implementation, with an emphasis on family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), maternal and child health (MCH), and HIV and AIDS. It is expected that work across health policy, advocacy, financing, and governance, in a highly coordinated and collaborative approach and with attention to gender equality and equity issues, will be required to achieve the project purpose. This project will leverage previous USG investments in the areas of policy, advocacy, financing, and governance, preserve the progress made to date, and ensure progression toward stated objectives.

The second generation of Alian...zas builds on the original program's goals, utilizing alliances to improve education and health. Since 2005, the partnership has had several key achievements through the formation of 104 individual private sector alliances: providing more than 100,000 scholarships, delivering over 150,000 textbooks, installation of 80 computer labs, training approximately 7,500 teachers, and training more than 5,000 health providers. In addition, more than 350,000 people received reproductive health and family planning informational messages, 26,000 mothers and 22,000 children took part in a maternal/child health program, over 46,000 people gained access to safe water after Tropical Storm Stan, and 7.4 million Guatemalans received vaccines to eradicate measles and rubella.

MEASURE EVALUATION IV

Measure Evaluation IV
|
The Monitoring and Evaluation ...to Assess and Use Results (MEASURE) Evaluation Phase IV Project builds on the decades-long commitment by the Bureau for Global Health to support health sector monitoring and evaluation and country health information system strengthening. The project is designed, in part, to further efforts of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to end preventable child and maternal deaths (EPCMD) by assisting partner governments and institutions to generate and make use of high-quality health systems data that can be used to guide decision-making on effective interventions. The strategic objective of the MEASURE Evaluation Phase IV Project is to enable countries to strengthen national, community, and facility-based systems to generate high quality health information that is used to inform decisions on policies, programs, and resource allocations at all levels of the health system.

The Knowledge for Health (K4He...alth) Project is the flagship health knowledge management project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The current iteration of the Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project is the latest in a lineage of reproductive health knowledge-sharing projects which began over 40 years ago. K4Health's focus is on social knowledge management for family planning and reproductive health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) manages the project in partnership with the Global Health Bureau at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). IntraHealth International joins longtime collaborators FHI 360 and Management Sciences for Health as partners with JHUCCP.

|

The Food and Nutrition Technic...al Assistance Project (FANTA) has been working to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable individuals, families, and communities in developing countries by strengthening food security and nutrition policies, programs, and systems. The project provides comprehensive technical support to USAID and its partners, including host country governments, international organizations, and nongovernmental organizations. FANTA works at both the country and global levels, supporting the design and implementation of programs in focus countries, and building on field experience to strengthen the evidence base, methods, and global standards for food security and nutrition programming.
