TB Call to Action for a TB-fre...e India - REACH
more
|
This project engages India's v...ast private sector financial, intellectual and material resources in concerted effort for a TB-free India. Activities will focus on identifying key actors in the public and private sectors, develop the agenda, background and action materials, and ensure media support for social and behavioral change. This will be distinct from CHALLENGE TB by focusing on state level implementation and dissemination of the Call to Action into concrete actions at state and district level. This project will create a movement to accelerate a TB-free India, generate additional in-country and donor resources for TB control, improve public understanding of TB, reduce stigma and discrimination, enable access for women and children, and facilitate the scale up of effective innovative TB control approaches and technologies.

Medicines, Technologies, and P...harmaceutical Services (MTaPS)
more
|
The goal of MTaPS is to enable... low- and middle-income countries to strengthen their pharmaceutical systems to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, and affordable essential medical products and medicines-related pharmaceutical services. The purpose of MTaPS is to provide pharmaceutical system strengthening assistance for sustained improvements in health system performance, and to advance USAID s goals of Preventing Child and Maternal Deaths, Controlling the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, and Combatting Infectious Disease Threats, as well as expanding essential health coverage. MTaPS works to strengthen essential areas of the pharmaceutical sector, including regulatory capacity, supply chain management, pharmaceutical financing and services, and pharmaceutical management information systems. Within this context, MTaPS addresses USG priority health elements including malaria, HIV/AIDS, family planning and reproductive health, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, and the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). MTaPS focuses on enhancing pharmaceutical services through patient-centered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security. The MTaPS result areas address the five health systems components (governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery) as they pertain to pharmaceutical management, informing the design of potential interventions to ensure that they respond to health element and cross-cutting concerns in support of health system strengthening.

STAR improves the effectivenes...s of global health programs worldwide by developing and strengthening the capacity of global health professionals by placing fellows and interns in external institutions, primarily in USAID-supported countries, and in USAID in partnership with academic and other institutions. STAR strengthens the technical and analytic professional cadre of human resources for global health by partnering with organizations of higher learning, development research, and/or health professional associations. Leveraging the expertise, resources, and partnerships of academic institutions and many other types of organizations, STAR contributes to strengthening institutions in developing countries that provide technical leadership and improve systems that promote technical collaboration across the global health community. STAR strengthens the pool of health professionals globally through field experience with developing country organizations, provides opportunities to diverse health professionals who mirror the populations USAID serves globally to build their skills and gain exposure to international health programs, and improves collaborative systems and long-term, sustainable partnerships for open exchange and utilization of information, knowledge, and educational resources to promote technical excellence and learning.

The purpose of this Activity i...s to support the Government of Indonesia (GOI) to sustain and increase efficiency in financing for health to improve financial protection, equitable access to quality health services, and health outcomes in USAID priority areas of HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), and Maternal and Newborn Health (MNH). The USAID Health Financing Activity has two objectives: 1) Improved sustainability of GOI financing for health. USAID seeks technical assistance to support Indonesian institutions to conceptualize, conduct and apply the necessary health financing analyses and tools needed to drive health sector reform. The Contractor will work with GOI counterparts to gather and improve the availability of quality data, perform analyses, present results, and advise on systems implications and policy options to improve the quality of current GOI health spending, increase GOI spending in the health sector, and improve JKN performance on critical indicators of cost, quality, and access. Collaborating and working directly with Indonesian universities and think tanks (Centers of Excellence) along with GOI stakeholders under this objective is intended to increase the store of technical knowledge and leadership ability within the Indonesian health system. 2) Strategic health purchasing mechanisms and capacities improved. There is substantial opportunity to improve health financing efficiency through refinement of health care purchasing methods and strengthening the way GOI agencies are organized to do this work. The USAID HF Activity will provide technical assistance to support the GOI in designing, implementing, monitoring and improving health care service delivery models, including provider payment mechanisms with the aim of contributing toward the achievement of better health outcomes and stabilizing cost per member enrolled in JKN. Based on assessing the results of current purchasing mechanisms, refinements to current approaches should be made or alternative purchasi

Sustaining Technical and Analy...tic Resources (STAR)

|
