The digital health initiative ...(Digital Square)
more
Digital Square works to create... a future where governments and decision-makers can access the information they need to ensure better health outcomes for all. The activity aims to perpetuate the pilot programs by aligning donors and the digital community around shared goals, supporting technical capacity in-country, coordinating and aligning investments around government priorities to achieve lasting impact, and promoting the reuse and adaptation of existing open-source digital health solutions. In Bangladesh, the activity will use FY17 funds to continue providing technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) to maintain the operations of the digitized supply chain management systems developed by USAID in the last six years. Digital Square will work with a local Information Technology firm to assist MoHFW to maintain and use the system for procurement planning..

MATERNAL AND CHILD SURVIVAL PR...OGRAM (MCSP - FORMERLY RMNCH)
more
Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH)
more
The United States Agency for I...nternational Developments (USAID) Bureau for Global Healths flagship Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) focuses on 25 high-priority countries with the ultimate goal of preventing child and maternal deaths. The Program is introducing and supporting high-impact, sustainable reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) interventions in partnership with ministries of health and other partners. MCSP places a greater emphasis on key cross-cutting issues such as innovation, e/mHealth, equity, quality, gender, public-private partnerships and involvement of civil society, community approaches, health systems strengthening, and behavior change interventions. While maintaining a focus on technical, high-impact interventions; the Program works toward sustainable scale-up to include the health systems that deliver these interventions. In addition to contributing to high-level technical and policy dialogue at the global level, the Program provides tailored technical assistance to help countries meet specific priorities and contextual needs of local RMNCH programs.

Comprehensive Platform for Int...egrated Communication Initiative (CPICI)
more
The goal of the Comprehensive ...Platform for Integrated Communications Initiative (CPICI) Cooperative Agreement is to support the Recipient's interventions and collaboration with the Government of Tanzania (GOT) to improve the health status especially of women and youth. The purpose is to support the Recipient's program to foster positive health practices in households and communities through changes in social and cultural norms that will enable and maintain these practices. Specifically, USAID intends to support interventions consistent with a strategic approach of using social behavior change communication interventions to improve the health of Tanzanians, demonstrating a clear link between program interventions and health status outcomes. USAID seeks to support a program where messages are tailored to geographic, epidemiological and audience segments at the regional level. Because regional radio programs have proven successful in the past, USAID seeks to support a program that incorporates this type of radio as a core media channel. Beyond traditional media, USAID seeks to support a program that is expected to use innovative techniques and mobile technologies to support program quality, reach, and effectiveness.

Defeat TB
The Defeat TB activity aims to... substantially reduce Uganda's Tuberculosis (TB) burden by 2023, by contributing to the U.S. government and World Health Organization's End TB Strategy, which seek to end the global TB epidemic by 2035. SERVING LIFE
Serving Life
Serving Life will reduce HIV, ...TB, and HCV transmission through detection and treatment of infected populations in pre-trial detention centers, prisons, and post-prison settings in Ukraine. The activity will be implemented in eleven oblasts with the highest HIV, TB, MDR-TB, and HIV/TB co-infection rates, as well as in government-controlled areas in Donetsk oblast. Serving Life will: strengthen services for people in pre-trial detention centers and prison settings; ensure the continuity of services after release; build the capacity of medical and social service staff working in the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to provide a comprehensive package of services; develop new evidence-based policies, orders, and guidelines in the MOH and MOJ related to the expansion of integrated HIV, TB, DR-TB and HCV programs; and ensure that this comprehensive package is included in national strategies and budgets. Preventing the spread of infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, providing quality treatment for HIV/AIDs patients, and battling corruption within the healthcare sector are USG priorities. Failure to address these priorities exposes U.S. citizens to the risk of infectious disease. This activity is coordinated with other Inter-agency-funded activities as well as with the Embassy's Health Cluster Working group.
