FFP is funding a USAID Impleme...nting Partner to reach 221,893 people in Amhara region with a comprehensive social and behavior change communications strategy. This strategy aims to facilitate changes at the household, community, and local government levels, as well as to support community asset creation to improve household resilience and reduce risks of food insecurity. The Implementing Partner is focusing on improving food security by addressing nutrition-sensitive factors, climate change and climate variability, government and community capacity deficits, and inequitable gender norms. To do so, the Implementing Partner is promoting the adoption of appropriate health, nutrition, and water, sanitation, and hygiene practices using care groups that promote positive gender and health norms; and the Implementing Partner is increasing incomes by diversifying livelihoods, particularly targeting women and youth, and increasing high value crop production by supplying high quality seeds and by providing livestock feed to female-headed households and other vulnerable groups.

FFP is funding a USAID Impleme...nting Partner to enhance the resilience of more than 523,642 vulnerable people in Tigray by reducing vulnerability to shocks and stresses, increasing agricultural production, increasing income and livelihood opportunities, and improving the nutrition status of PLW and children under two. The Implementing Partner focuses on improving food security by promoting sustainable watershed management, using participatory approaches, and focusing on youth. Additionally, the Implementing Partner focuses on the cross-cutting priorities of gender equality and women's empowerment, climate change adaptation, social accountability and governance, and human and institutional capacity development.

The goal of the TPSNP4 is to ...enhance resilience to shock, and improve food, nutrition and livelihood security among vulnerable rural women and men in 12 woredas of Tigray”. Central to achieving this goal are four interlinked domains of change (purposes) including: i) reduced vulnerability to shocks and stresses, ii) increased agricultural production and productivity, iii) improved sustainable livelihoods of vulnerable women, men and youth groups, and iv) reduced malnutrition among pregnant and lactating women, and children under five.

Resiliency in Northern Ghana (...RING)
more
TheUSAID/GhanaResiliency in No...rthern Ghana (RING)program is an integrated project and partnership effort under USAIDs Feed the Future initiative designed to contribute to the Government of Ghana's efforts to sustainably reduce poverty and improve the nutritional status of vulnerable populations. The purpose of the RING project is to improve the livelihoods and nutritional status of vulnerable households in targeted communities of 17 districts in the Northern Region. This is being achieved through three complementary project components: increasing the consumption of diverse quality foods, especially among women and children; improving behaviors related to nutrition and hygiene of women and young children; and strengthening local support networks to address the ongoing needs of vulnerable households.

SYSTEMS FOR HEALTH
Systems for Health
Systems for Health supports th...e Government of Ghana to scale-up evidence-based, high-impact interventions aiming to end preventable child/maternal deaths, reduce unmet need for family planning, improve the nutritional status of pregnant women/young children, and gender equity. Working with the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Regional and District Health Management Teams in 5 regions, the project improves the technical and organizational performance of existing facilities, expands coverage of Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) zones, strengthens the interaction between GHS staff and community volunteers, and provides quality assurance for health interventions. Health worker training and service delivery will include point-of-use water treatment and promotion of hand-washing with soap. The project will strengthen health systems, support national policy change, build CHPS facilities (with construction of facility borehole and latrines), and encourage service integration.

The People for Health project ...will strengthen the capacity of local health non-government organizations (NGOs) to advocate for improved quality and coverage of government health programs, including monitoring and reporting on the quality and local access of provider services and advocating for reforms. The project will strengthen the role of civil society in malaria and maternal and child health advocacy by training local NGOs in governmental policies that affect health, effective methods of tracking government health resources, and evidence-based advocacy skills.

BREAKTHROUGH-ACTION
Breakthrough-ACTION
Breakthrough-ACTION will use s...tate-of-the-art, evidence-based tools to encourage people in developing countries to adopt healthy behaviors, from using modern contraceptive methods to sleeping under bed nets to being tested for HIV. Much of the work will harness the power of communication - from mass media campaigns to TV and radio dramas to simple posters in a health clinic - to inspire long-lasting change. The project will also take advantage of other behavioral science approaches such as behavioral economics and human-centered design to improve programs. The program - which builds on a prior five-year, 31-country project called the Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) - is expected to be double the size. It will be led by CCP who will partner with Save the Children, ideas42, ThinkPlace Kenya and Camber Collective. Breakthrough-ACTION will also be supported in the field by ActionSprout, the International Center for Research on Women and Human Network International. CCP is based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

The Health Systems Strengtheni...ng Accelerator (HSSA) is a 5-year global project. It will provide a global platform to connect locally-driven health system innovations with global knowledge, accelerate countries' journeys to self-reliant health systems, and improve the institutional architecture for evidence-based and sustainable health system strengthening. This project will address persistent health systems problems at the local and global levels through understanding of problems and root causes; evidence translation; innovation and iterative adaptation; understanding of motivation, incentives, and political dynamics; and focusing on institutionalization and sustainability.

AKSE (Aksyon Kolektif pou Seki...rite kont Eksplwatasyon - Health Policy Project)
more
The Health Policy Project (HPP...) works to strengthen developing country national and subnational policy, advocacy, governance, and finance for strategic, equitable, and sustainable health programming. HPP helps countries bring about real change in the health of people and communities. We work with in-country partners to sustain commitment to and ownership of policy responses that support improvements in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), HIV, and maternal health.
more
Globally, HPP contributes to i...mproved health outcomes through strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of health systems in a multi-sectoral context. HPP focuses on the policy aspects of health and other social sectors, often in a multi-sectoral context. We also assist countries to improve health outcomes by addressing barriers due to gender inequalities, socioeconomic status, stigma and discrimination, operational issues, and other factors that prevent people from seeking the health and related social services they need. Throughout our work, we are committed to encouraging in-country capacity for policy, advocacy, governance, and finance. For additional information on HPP see www.healthpolicyproject.com. (https://jobpaw.com/public/detailsjob.php?idjob=5595)
In Haiti, HPP has been asked to implement the USAID-funded for the Aksyon Kolektif pou Sekirite kont Eksplwatasyon (AKSE) Program which supports a multi-sectoral approach to strengthen the Haitian environment for human rights in general and for vulnerable populations, in particular, children, women, and sexual minorities. AKSE was previously implemented by CARE International. HPP will build on the work of the previous project from March 2014 through at least September 2015, with potential for extension.
