MATERNAL AND CHILD SURVIVAL PR...OGRAM (MCSP - FORMERLY RMNCH) - MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
more
|
Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH) - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
MCSP is reducing maternal and ...newborn mortality and morbidity in Burma by strengthening the midwifery profession. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other partners, we promote best practices in maternal and newborn health care, and provide capacity building support to the Myanmar Nurses Midwives Association. We focus on evidence-based, high-quality interventions to reduce the leading drivers of maternal mortality in the country: postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and sepsis. MCSP also addresses the major causes of newborn death through improved neonatal resuscitation, prevention and management of pre-term birth, care for preterm/low birth weight newborns, and identification and management of newborn infections. and we work with the MOH to provide national technical assistance for malaria in pregnancy and integrated community case management.

newborn and child health, immunization, family planning and reproductive
health, nutrition, health systems strengthening, water/sanitation/hygiene,
malaria, prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and pediatric HIV
care and treatment.

SPRING/Ghana aims to reduce st...unting by 20 percent in two regionsNorthern Region and Upper East Region. Working in 15 districts within these two regions, SPRING/Ghanas activities include anemia reduction, infant and young child nutrition; water, sanitation, and hygiene; aflatoxin reduction; community video; and support to the LEAP 1000 cash transfers. SPRING/Ghana defines its activities through the 1,000 Day Household (linked to 2-pager) approach, which targets households with pregnant women and children 2 years of age and younger. Knowledge for Health II (K4H-I...I) - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
The Knowledge for Health (K4He...alth) Project is the flagship health knowledge management project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The current iteration of the Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project is the latest in a lineage of reproductive health knowledge-sharing projects which began over 40 years ago. K4Health's focus is on social knowledge management for family planning and reproductive health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) manages the project in partnership with the Global Health Bureau at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). IntraHealth International joins longtime collaborators FHI 360 and Management Sciences for Health as partners with JHUCCP.

Resilience and Economic Growth... in the Sahel - Enhanced Resilience - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
The Resilience and Economic Gr...owth in the Sahel - Enhanced Resilience (REGIS-ER) aims to increase the resilience of chronically vulnerable people, households, communities and systems in targeted agro-pastoral and marginal agriculture livelihood zones in Niger and Burkina Faso. Expected, topline results in targeted geographies are: Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) rates reduced from near 15% to < 10% prevalence; the depth of poverty amongst poor households reduced by 20%; the prevalence of severely/moderately hungry households reduced by 20%; and the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance during a drought of 2011 magnitude reduced by 375,000. With FY 2014 funds, REGIS-ER will: - Facilitate the diversification of economic opportunities, intensification through increased crop and livestock productivity and the development of high potential crop and livestock value chains, and improved access to financial services. - Support the development and implementation of integrated natural resource, conflict, and disaster risk management plans. REGIS-ER will also build the capacity of the government (at all levels) to coordinate these and other resilience efforts. - Bolster improved access to potable water and improved health and nutrition practices, including the consumption of nutritious foods, and the demand for and use of health services.

Feed the Future Tajikistan Hea...lth and Nutrition Activity - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
USAID's new MCH/nutrition acti...vity will contribute to global health goals and achieve nutrition targets in Tajikistan's Feed the Future (FTF) geographic focus area by: (1) improving maternal nutritional status; (2) enhancing delivery and postpartum care for mothers and children; and (3) expanding access to health interventions to improve child survival and address child under-nutrition and malnutrition. This three-to-five year community based activity will include interventions such as capasity building of the primary health care health providers, including family practicioners, nurses, midviwes, ob-gynsto deliver quality service as well as community-based health and nutrition education; hygiene and sanitation; and the promotion of increased use of health services provided through a network of local village organizations and volunteer health educators. Activities align with USG Feed the Future initiative. This activity is specific to USAID/Tajikistan and is not part of a larger, regional project implemented in other parts of the USAID/Central Asia Republics Mission (i.e. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, or Kazakhstan).

|
|
