Supply Chain Management System... (SCMS) - Task Order 3 - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
Supply Chain Management System... (SCMS) is a multi-billion dollar PEPFAR Program managed by USAID and implemented by Partnership for Supply Chain Management (PfSCM). The purpose of SCMS is to ensure the supply of quality essential medicines and other products to people impacted by HIV/AIDS, and to promote sustainable supply chains in partner countries, in collaboration with US agencies and other stakeholders. SCMS supports the rapid scale up of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment by providing an uninterrupted supply of key commodities. CMS is implemented by the Partnership for Supply Chain Management, a non-profit consortium of 13 organizations led by John Snow, Inc. Research & Training Institute (JSI) and Management Sciences forHealth (MSH).

(Improved water and sanitation and road safety for vulnerable populations in Nepal and human resources development).

Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH) - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
MCSP is reducing maternal and ...newborn mortality and morbidity in Burma by strengthening the midwifery profession. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other partners, we promote best practices in maternal and newborn health care, and provide capacity building support to the Myanmar Nurses Midwives Association. We focus on evidence-based, high-quality interventions to reduce the leading drivers of maternal mortality in the country: postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and sepsis. MCSP also addresses the major causes of newborn death through improved neonatal resuscitation, prevention and management of pre-term birth, care for preterm/low birth weight newborns, and identification and management of newborn infections. And we work with the MOH to provide national technical assistance for malaria in pregnancy and integrated community case management.

USAID/Uganda Advocacy for Bett...er Better Health - Maternal and Child Health
more
|
This mechanism will implement ...advocacy activities targeting a range of HIV, health and education issues in 35 districts, funded from the FHP and PEPFAR accounts. The program will work with civil society organizations (CSOs), through existing community, district and national level structures, and with other USAID programs and will result in strengthening the citizens voice, increasing demand for services and the promotion of country ownership. The key objectives are: 1) to ensure that communities in the selected districts can identify and articulate their needs and are able to demand quality services; 2) to ensure that the CSOs develop effective advocacy initiatives and are able to represent the communities demands for better quality services; and 3) to build the technical and operational capacity of the CSOs to qualify them as potential direct recipients of future USAID funding.

Yemen has one of the highest m...aternal and child mortality rates in the world. Its reproductive health challenges can be addressed with proven, preventable, and for the most part affordable, low-tech interventions under the most challenging conditions. USAID/Yemen MCHIP-will strengthen the Ministry of Public Health and Populations (MoPHP) reproductive and child health systems performance and address improving health seeking behavior at both the household and facility levels of health institutions. Y-MCHIP is divided into a field support Phase I which conducted various assessments, including a needs and gap analysis on maternal, nutrition, and child health as well as family planning/reproductive health care services at the household and at both governmental and private facility service levels.

|

The CSHGP facilitates a dynami...c partnership between USAID and private and voluntary organizations (PVOs)/NGOs. Through the CSHGP, USAID leverages the development entrepreneurship and know how of PVOs/NGOs and their local partners for innovative and effective community-oriented programming that sustainably improves maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) outcomes, strengthens local and community health systems, and contributes to reductions in morbidity and mortality. PVOs/NGOs, with their local partners (national and local MOH, local NGOs/CBOs, communities), implement in a range of settings, from remote communities in a single district to multiple districts or a province. Projects address critical health needs of vulnerable populationsand work strategically with a systems approach at the household, community, health facility, and policy levels and strengthens linkages as relevant.
