Gender Action Platform (the GA...P)
more
|
The Gender Action Platform (th...e GAP) is a competitive grants program for Australian Non-Government Orhanisations (NGOs) accredited under the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) to strengthen gender equality programming in the Indo-Pacific. ANCP NGOs will have the opportunity to submit a proposal for a grant between $0.5 million and $3.0 million for a new or existing project addressing gender equality that scales up good practice or trials innovation. The proposals must align with Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's (DFAT)Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment Strategy. The objective of the GAP is to strengthen NGO projects to enhance gender equality outcomes in developing countries through: the delivery of innovative or transformational NGO projects that reduce violence against women, increase women's economic opportunities and improve leadership for and by women through collective action; shared learning on good gender equality practice and lessons from trialling new approaches with GAP NGOs and the broader ANCP; increased collaboration on gender equality development challenges, including between NGOs and DFAT bilateral and regional programs. GAP aims to encourage innovation, development coordination, improved monitoring, evaluation and shared learning processes and effective partnerships across projects addressing gender equality. The total value of this investment is $10.0 million over 4 years, starting 2016-17.

Pump Priming grants support in...terdisciplinary research that will provide new insights and stimulate creative thinking to tackle Antimicrobial resistance in developing countries. Through this call, we aim to expand understanding of how the behaviour of public, professionals and organisations impacts on AMR: how it can enhance or control the spread of AMR; how it is affected by social, psychological and organisational context, cultures and history; and how it can be influenced to create different future scenarios.

THE MICRONUTRIENT PROJECT
|
The Micronutrient Project
|
The Micronutrient project will... contribute to the Government of Indonesia's (GoI) effort to achieve the nutrition priorities of the RPJMN (2015-19), leverage existing investments in Indonesia by the Government of Canada, and harness Micronutrient Initiative (MI)'s strong relationship with the GoI. MI will support the GoI's effort to improve the coverage and adherence of Iron Folic Acid supplements for pregnant women, Vitamin A supplementation program and use of Zinc and ORS in treatment of childhood diarrhoea in East Java and East Nusa Tenggara. It is expected that in the 2 provinces the project will result in an additional 73,500 pregnant women receive at least 90 IFA tablets and 60,000 consume at least 90 IFA tablets and among children 6-59 months an additional 240,000 children 6-59 months are expected to be reached with two doses of VAS every year and 365,000 children 6-59 months treated with both zinc and ORS for diarrhoea.

MI will support the GoI's effort to improve the coverage and adherence of Iron Folic Acid supplements for pregnant women, Vitamin A supplementation program and use of Zinc and ORS in treatment of childhood diarrhea in East Java and East Nusa Tenggara. It is expected that in the 2 provinces the project will result in an additional 73,500 pregnant women receive at least 90 IFA tablets and 60,000 consume at least 90 IFA tablets and among children 6-59 months an additional 240,000 children 6-59 months are expected to be reached with two doses of VAS every year and 365,000 children 6-59 months treated with both zinc and ORS for diarrhea.

STRENGTHENING HUMANITARIAN PRE...PAREDNESS IN NEPAL

Strengthening Humanitarian Pre...paredness in Nepal
more
|
This investment will strengthe...n humanitarian preparedness in Nepal through strategic partnerships with UNFPA and WFP. Total value of the investment will be approximately $4.7 million over six years (2018-2023). The investment includes $0.5m to UNFPA for 2017/18. The investment aligns well with Australia's broader objectives, proven capacity to respond with good relationships with partner governments. The partners also have strong networks within various stakeholders and the Government of Nepal and are confident to manage the investment effectively. Australia's investment is supporting activities related to both the partners' Country Strategic Plans. Our funding (in addition to other donors) will therefore leverage economies of scale and ensure that the organisation's work is aligned with broader national priorities.

The SDC negotiates programme c...ontributions as part of institutional partnerships. For the assessment and negotiation of programme contributions, which is based on the NGO's overall programme, the organisation is required to have a long-standing track record and have successfully undergone the admission procedure. Programme contributions are an investment in the competences and capacities of the NGOs and in the relevance of their programmes.
