|
The Knowledge for Health (K4He...alth) Project is the flagship health knowledge management project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The current iteration of the Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project is the latest in a lineage of reproductive health knowledge-sharing projects which began over 40 years ago. K4Health's focus is on social knowledge management for family planning and reproductive health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) manages the project in partnership with the Global Health Bureau at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). IntraHealth International joins longtime collaborators FHI 360 and Management Sciences for Health as partners with JHUCCP.

MEASURE EVALUATION IV
|
Measure Evaluation IV
|
The Monitoring and Evaluation ...to Assess and Use Results (MEASURE) Evaluation Phase IV Project builds on the decades-long commitment by the Bureau for Global Health to support health sector monitoring and evaluation and country health information system strengthening. The project is designed, in part, to further efforts of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to end preventable child and maternal deaths (EPCMD) by assisting partner governments and institutions to generate and make use of high-quality health systems data that can be used to guide decision-making on effective interventions. The strategic objective of the MEASURE Evaluation Phase IV Project is to enable countries to strengthen national, community, and facility-based systems to generate high quality health information that is used to inform decisions on policies, programs, and resource allocations at all levels of the health system.

The Sant pour le Dveloppement ...et la Stabilit d'Hati (SDSH) Project-known as Pwoj Djanm (robust project) in Creole-and its all-Haitian team are working to increase availability of essential social services, reduce internal conflict, enable productive livelihoods that contribute to Haiti's economic development, and build capacity as the foundation for progress. MSH and its partners will continue to support local service delivery NGOs by using performance-based contracts, a proven way to reinforce innovation and accountability; these NGOs will go on to become additional sources of technical assistance. Pwoj Djanm's focus is on supporting decentralization, strengthening public-sector capacity in service delivery, and supporting local NGO service delivery by leveraging funding from the commercial sector and other donors.

The Health Care Improvement Pr...oject worked to improve essential obstetric and newborn services at the health facility and community levels. The project sought to reduce maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality through the application of effective quality improvement approaches to services ranging from antenatal to postnatal care and family planning services, including institutionalizing active management of the third stage of labor (AMTSL). The USAID Mission in Mali engaged URC to work in three additional areas: management of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, maternal anemia, and family planning counseling and post-partum care.

Global Health Supply Chain - P...rocurement and Supply Management (GSHC-PSM) IDIQ - Family Planning/Reproductive Health (PRH) Task Order

Building on decades of USAID's... work procuring health commodities and strengthening supply chains, the Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement and Supply Management project is working to transform global and national supply chains for health commodities. The project integrates two former USAID programs into one efficient supply chain that serves many of the world's most vulnerable and difficult-to-reach communities. The project is designed to meet today's critical global health challenges - eliminating HIV and AIDS, providing universal malaria coverage, and helping women meet their family planning and reproductive health needs. By bringing together advanced technical solutions, a team of highly qualified experts, and proven commercial processes and principles, USAID Global Health Supply Chain works to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in global and national supply chains. In addition to optimizing supply chains, the project is strengthening national supply chain systems and fostering collaboration among supply chain stakeholders worldwide.

INNOVATIONS IN TB CONTROL
|
Innovations in TB Control
|
India has been quick to adopt ...and use improved TB technologies and approaches beginning with the adoption and rollout of DOTS in the 1990s. More recently, with USAID support through WHO, the GOI has adopted and is scaling up the use of the rapid TB test, GeneXpert, including in the diagnosis of drug-resistant TB in children. The Grand Challenges in TB Control Project has leveraged $5 million to match USAID's investment to crowd source innovations to: (1) promote treatment adherence through information and communication technology, (2) improve diagnostics, and (3) test models for engaging the private sector providers of products and services.

Global Health Supply Chain - P...rocurement and Supply Management (GSHC-PSM) IDIQ - HIV/AIDS Task Order
more
|

This project will address huma...n rights issues facing poor and marginalized groups, particularly women, children, indigenous groups, religious and ethnic minorities, disabled persons and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) groups. ~The project will address three challenges: 1) Limited access to justice of the poor and marginalized groups, particularly in the provinces of Central and West Kalimantan, Central and Eastern Java, North Sumatra, South Sulawesi and Papua; 2) Lack of a comprehensive data and analysis on human rights violations; and 3) Unfavorable trends regarding the civil society enabling environment. ~This project will work on both the supply (government) and demand (civil society) sides to generate further improvements in government accountability and in the protection of citizen rights. Expected results:-Access to justice for poor and marginalized citizens increased. -Ability of the government to protect citizens' rights improved. -Enabling environment for Civil Society Organizations improved.
