The Vistaar Project is a six-y...ear, $25 million initiative to assist the Government of India and state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand in taking knowledge to practice in order to improve maternal, newborn, and child health, and nutritional status. Working with the public sector and other partners to promote evidence-based practices going to scale and reaching the most vulnerable, the Vistaar Project takes its name from the Hindi word for expansion. The projects objectives include 1) providing strategic technical assistance, 2) generating evidence about effective, efficient, and expandable interventions, and 3) advocating for evidence-based programming. In addition, the project supports health system and health workforce strengthening initiatives in both states as well as in the state of Bihar.

Private Sector Partnerships Pr...oject (PSP-1) - Family Planning and Reproductive Health
more
|
The Private Sector Partnership...s-One project (PSP-One) was the first of 15 task orders awarded by USAID?s Office of Population and Reproductive Health under its Private Sector Program. The projects primary aim was to increase the sustainable provision and use of family planning and other health products and services. Within the broader Private Sector Program, PSP-One also served as USAID?s primary vehicle to support core-funded activities related to private sector innovation, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research, monitoring and evaluation. For USAID missions that did not wish to issue their own Private Sector.Program task order, PSP-One also offered a mechanism to program field support. During its five-year lifespan, the project applied its expertise in 31 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. PSP-One activities spanned a broad range of technical areas including public-private partnerships, social marketing and pharmaceutical partnerships, private provider networks and social franchising, base-of-the-pyramid market-based partnerships, behavior change communications, policy, quality improvement, and health financing. This PSP-One final report shares PSP-One?s most important findings and lessons learned through the presentation of 14 country case studies and a summary of the project?s tools and global research.

AKSE (Aksyon Kolektif pou Seki...rite kont Eksplwatasyon - Health Policy Project) - Family Planning and Reproductive Health
more

The Health Policy Project (HPP...) works to strengthen developing country national and subnational policy, advocacy, governance, and finance for strategic, equitable, and sustainable health programming. HPP helps countries bring about real change in the health of people and communities. We work with in-country partners to sustain commitment to and ownership of policy responses that support improvements in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), HIV, and maternal health.
more
|
Globally, HPP contributes to i...mproved health outcomes through strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of health systems in a multi-sectoral context. HPP focuses on the policy aspects of health and other social sectors, often in a multi-sectoral context. We also assist countries to improve health outcomes by addressing barriers due to gender inequalities, socioeconomic status, stigma and discrimination, operational issues, and other factors that prevent people from seeking the health and related social services they need. Throughout our work, we are committed to encouraging in-country capacity for policy, advocacy, governance, and finance. For additional information on HPP see www.healthpolicyproject.com. (https://jobpaw.com/public/detailsjob.php?idjob=5595)
In Haiti, HPP has been asked to implement the USAID-funded for the Aksyon Kolektif pou Sekirite kont Eksplwatasyon (AKSE) Program which supports a multi-sectoral approach to strengthen the Haitian environment for human rights in general and for vulnerable populations, in particular, children, women, and sexual minorities. AKSE was previously implemented by CARE International. HPP will build on the work of the previous project from March 2014 through at least September 2015, with potential for extension.

|

Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH) - Family Planning and Reproductive Health
more
|
MCSP is reducing maternal and ...newborn mortality and morbidity in Burma by strengthening the midwifery profession. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other partners, we promote best practices in maternal and newborn health care, and provide capacity building support to the Myanmar Nurses Midwives Association. We focus on evidence-based, high-quality interventions to reduce the leading drivers of maternal mortality in the country: postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and sepsis. MCSP also addresses the major causes of newborn death through improved neonatal resuscitation, prevention and management of pre-term birth, care for preterm/low birth weight newborns, and identification and management of newborn infections. And we work with the MOH to provide national technical assistance for malaria in pregnancy and integrated community case management.

Translating Research into Acti...on (TRAction) Project - Family Planning and Reproductive Health
more
|
The purpose of the Translating... Research into Action (TRAction) Project is to accelerate the introduction and scale up of approaches and interventions that when implemented in programs will reduce mortality and severe morbidity in women, newborns and young children. There is a preponderance of evidence on the potential impact of specific maternal, neonatal and child health interventions yet the successful implementation and scale-up of these in countries remains a challenge. TRAction will address this knowledge gap by managing research, introduction and evaluation activities on how to effectively deliver, increase utilization, achieve coverage, and scale-up evidence based newborn, child, maternaland integrated MNCH health and nutrition tools, approaches, interventions and policies that are relevant to field programs.

APHIA Plus Central/Eastern - F...amily Planning and Reproductive Health
more
|
The APHIAplus (AIDS, Populatio...n and Health Integrated Assistance Plus) program is a health services delivery program funded by USAID. The program supports the implementation of health services development plans. The programs stakeholders are Kenyan governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations, faith-based organizations, and the private sector. To improve health outcomes, the program supports the provinces to maximize their existing service delivery capacity; integrate maternal, newborn, and child health, nutrition, water, and sanitation interventions; and apply resources to existing programs that allow the provinces to more quickly address social determinants of health, especially for poor, marginalized, and underserved populations.
