Res East - Streghtening the Re...silience and inclusive Sustainable Agriculture Development for the people of the Eastern states in Sudan
more
|
The iniziative takes place in ...the poorest Eastern Sudan's States and articulates a strategy that fosters resilience starting from the communities dwelling within the irrigated arable lands (UNIDO component) up to reaching out the pastoralists communities inhabiting dryland at risk of marginalization (AICS direct implementation component). While the economic resilience benefits from improved and increased businesses opportunities, personal and community resilience refers to factors like food and water security, health and livelihood stability that eventually might link to the marketable value chain opportunities. This iniziative is based on the practical experience acquired by the two implementing actors and on the expertise available to inform relevant and innovative policies and provide practical support to the relevant stakeholders. Some activities that will be carried out within the framework of the project aim to respond to and / or mitigate the impact of the Covid19 Pandemic

UNHCR works to ensure that per...sons arriving in the context of mixed migration movements Tunisia have access to fair pro-cesses, docu mentation and shelter. This is achieved by im-proving the refugee status determination processes, enhancing UNHCR's capacity to realize resettlement, and by establishing and maintaining two shelters. Specific efforts are made to en-sure that gender-specific needs are met throughout the pro-cess, such as safe spaces for women and girls, and to ensure that everyone has equal access to the services. This program builds on an earlier program financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (4000003012).

more
|
The 'Social and Behavioural Ch...ange Communication Campaign to Address COVID-19' in Sierra Leone implemented by FOCUS 1000 aims to ensure that the general public, especially the most vulnerable –the aged, women, adolescent girls, young persons, families and communities - have the information, understanding and basic skills needed to address the health, SGBV or other challenges posed by the coronavirus situation. The objective is to mount an intensive evidenced-informed communication campaign that empowers the public with knowledge on recommended healthy and social protection behaviours regarding COVID-19 across the country. The key activities include conducting a series of KAP studies, carryout intensive campaigns and engage extensively with the Kombra Network.

Water and Sanitation Initiativ...e Global Programming
more
|
Water and Sanitation Initiativ...e (WSI) Global Programming is an initiative to fund global and regional water, sanitation and hygiene programs delivered through multilateral partners. The purpose of the funding is to widen the geographical focus and impact of water programs, complement activities funded bilaterally, and to work with multilateral partners to improve aid effectiveness, build partner capacity and enhance knowledge management. It also contributes to DFAT's support to SDG 6 to achieve access to safe and affordable drinking water and adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all, especially the needs of vulnerable women and girls and other vulnerable populations. This investment is currently funding multilateral partners including the World Bank, the World Health Organization and the Sanitation and Water for All Partnership (SWA).

Governance for Growth (GfG) - ...Phase II
more
|
The Governance for Growth (GfG...) program was established in 2006 as a partnership between the Government of Australia (GoA) and Government of Vanuatu (GoV), with the goal of supporting the GoV to achieve its objectives under the Priorities and Action Agenda 2006-2015, namely to create an educated, healthy and wealthy Vanuatu. It's purpose is to generate economic growth and improve service delivery through good governance. the program is a ten year program divided into two implementation phases. The first phase ended in July 2012. The GfG is highly regarded by GoA and GoV. Funding of this initiative is for Phase 2 and the focus of Phase 2 will primarily remain unchanged from phase 1 by supporting the GoV to establish and mature economic and governance reforms in telecommunications, energy, transport, public financial management, tourism and urban development. The total value of this initiative is $22.6 million over 5 years, starting 2011-12.

The Danish Government approved... the third COVID-19 emergency response package to developing countries 17 October1, 2020. In total, 13 Danish financed initiatives were endorsed by a broad political mandate and joined press release published. The package also included the present contribution to ESMAP's COVID-19 response and amount of DKK 40.0 million. The Danish support to ESMAP's proposal Fighting COVID-19 and Strengthening Health Infrastructure with Sustainable Energy will contribute to provide reliable energy to the health clinics in Sub-Saharan Africa while simultaneous demonstrate how renewable energy can replace traditional diesel generators. The Response programme aims to support at least ten low-income and fragile countries, provide 1,000 health clinics with renewable energy, improve conditions for more than 7 million patients, mobilise US$100 million IDA funding and support at least 75 energy companies to benefit from the Energy Access Relief Fund. In short, the project aims to build back better and greener by improving the health systems' ability to fight COVID-19 and demonstrate a transition to power public institutions with green energy while at the same time support the nascent off-grid solar energy industry in Africa to get through the financial crisis.
