New Partnerships Initiative (N...PI) EXPAND (New Partners for Better Health) is a five-year (2019-2024), $43.9 million global project with the goal of working with missions and organizations to increase the availability and utilization of quality health services across all USAID priority health areas. NPI EXPAND will catalyze opportunities to scale up innovative interventions by strengthening the capacity of New and Underutilized Partners (NUP) with varying levels of capabilities and exposure to USAID. In line with the Journey to Self-Reliance, NPI EXPAND will support countries to identify and strengthen local organizations to participate fully in their local health system. New Partnerships Initiative will increase USAID s development impact by elevating local leadership, fostering creativity and innovation, and mobilizing resources across the Agency s programs. 1. Strengthen the organizational sustainability of new and underutilized local entities or locally established partners: Targeted countries will advance their self-reliance through a strengthened cadre of NUPs that are ready to meet the needs of the underserved. The activity will support NUPs to increase their managerial, financial, and administrative capacities to enhance their ability to not only receive direct support from USAID but also be more engaged partners within local health systems. 2. Expand utilization of high-quality, high-impact health services, information and supplies expanded: Participating NUPs will contribute to enhancing the supply and utilization of high-quality, integrated health services, with a focus on reaching underserved populations. NPI EXPAND supports this evolution by fostering the technical skills of providers, the expansion of services offered, quality assurance systems, and introducing cost-effective demand creation techniques that can be integrated in the service delivery setting. 3. Medicines, Technologies, and P...harmaceutical Services (MTaPS)
more
|
The goal of MTaPS is to enable... low- and middle-income countries to strengthen their pharmaceutical systems to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, and affordable essential medical products and medicines-related pharmaceutical services. The purpose of MTaPS is to provide pharmaceutical system strengthening assistance for sustained improvements in health system performance, and to advance USAID s goals of Preventing Child and Maternal Deaths, Controlling the HIV/AIDS Epidemic, and Combatting Infectious Disease Threats, as well as expanding essential health coverage. MTaPS works to strengthen essential areas of the pharmaceutical sector, including regulatory capacity, supply chain management, pharmaceutical financing and services, and pharmaceutical management information systems. Within this context, MTaPS addresses USG priority health elements including malaria, HIV/AIDS, family planning and reproductive health, tuberculosis, maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, and the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). MTaPS focuses on enhancing pharmaceutical services through patient-centered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security. The MTaPS result areas address the five health systems components (governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery) as they pertain to pharmaceutical management, informing the design of potential interventions to ensure that they respond to health element and cross-cutting concerns in support of health system strengthening.

FEED THE FUTURE HARVEST II
|
Feed the Future HARVEST II
|
Feed the Future Cambodia Harve...st II builds on the results and adopts lessons learned from the HARVEST I activity and is in its second year of implementation. It will accelerate growth in the fruits and vegetable sector across the Global Food Security Strategy's Zone of Influence in the provinces of Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap and Kampong Thom. Harvest II focuses on building market linkages using a buyer-led, market system approach and support commercial relationships that will ultimately allow producers, buyers, farmer groups, and collectors to compete more effectively in domestic and international markets. This activity will increase investment and sales as well as create new jobs in the agriculture sector. Harvest II will also work to create a better enabling environment for investment and trade in the sector, foster public private dialogue to address the constraints to agricultural growth, and, recognize the importance of women and youth participation. Harvest II focuses on market systems development and is contributing to the Global Food Security Strategy goal to sustainably reduce poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. The activity falls under the Administration priority to foster economic opportunities for the American people by improving supply chain management, promoting private sector productivity, and leveraging private sector partnerships. In addition, the activity contributes to Mission Objective 4.2 (CDCS DO3) - Strengthen sustainable and resilient pathways out of poverty. The activity was awarded through a competitive process in which the offeror with the best value to the U.S. government was selected, in accordance with federal procurement regulations..

When governments and economic ...actors have sound, effective, transparent, gender-aware, and accountable systems and policies in place, there is an increased ability to achieve broad-based economic growth and improved regional economic connectivity. Through the US-Support for Economic Growth in Asia (US-SEGA) Project, the Asia Bureau will improve the policy environment to promote sustainable economic growth and prosperity, improved regional economic cooperation, sound management of institutions, and good governance under the Indo Pacific Strategy. US-SEGA will achieve this goal through two key components that: 1. Strengthen the capacity of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) foreign assistance eligible developing member economies to advance regional economic cooperation and achieve forum-wide goals of free and open trade and investment in the region. This component will deliver targeted technical assistance through policy studies, dialogues, workshops and conferences designed to share best practices with policy makers in helping them to fulfill their economy level commitments to APEC. 2. Support USAID economic growth programs in the Asia Region by providing the Asia Bureau and Missions with a flexible, on-demand mechanism to engage in economic reforms and promote interventions and best practices under the Indo Pacific Strategy that support trade facilitation and business enabling environment. US-SEGA provides sound economic growth, trade, and investment advice under the Indo-Pacific Strategy while also supporting USAID efforts to assist APEC economies in the implementation of forum-wide benchmarks to support regional economic cooperation.

|
