DATA FOR IMPACT (D4I)
Data for Impact (D4I)
The USAID-funded Data for Impa...ct (D4I) project is a mechanism for monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and use, and other research needs. D4I is an associate award of the MEASURE Evaluation Phase IV project and is a cross-bureau global health mechanism that supports Missions across health sectors. D4I builds on and reinforces current U.S. government efforts to support countries to generate and use high quality data as evidence to improve programs, policies, and outcomes (https://www.data4impactproject.org). D4I will continue the work of MEASURE Evaluation Phase IV around evaluation, data quality and data use (the specific services are listed below) through the adaptation and use of tools and methodologies developed by MEASURE Evaluation Phase IV and through development of new ones as needed.

more
The Demographic and Health Sur...veys (DHS-8) Program assists participating countries in implementing household and facility-based surveys, analyzing data stemming from these surveys, and facilitating use of these data to support evidence-informed decision making. The DHS-8 contract will continue to be USAID's primary implementation mechanism for demographic and health data collection with activities yielding improved tools, methods, partnerships, and technical guidance to collect quality population, health, and nutrition data. Project activities will also increase in-country individual and institutional capacity for identification of data needs and for survey design, management, and data collection to meet those needs. DHS-8 will disseminate program survey data and information through multiple mechanisms including country specific DHS reports, curricula for professionals, peer reviewed journal publications that use DHS data, and the DHS website. These dissemination activities improve the availability of DHS Program survey data and information, advance analysis and synthesis of DHS Program survey data, and improve facilitation of DHS Program data use among stakeholders worldwide. Through the project's capacity building and dissemination activities, DHS-8 will continue to build on past investment and support countries on their transition to self-reliance.

ENGAGE HCD (HUMAN-CENTERED DES...IGN)
more
Engage HCD (Human-Centered Des...ign)
more
EngageHCD is a contracting veh...icle available to USAID's Bureau for Global Health and Missions to procure state-of-the-art human-centered design services. Design is a methodology that places people and other critical stakeholders at the center of the design and implementation process. The design methodology s approach to problem solving is iterative, measurable, results-driven, and interdisciplinary. It can help find solutions to issues that are ingrained in global health, such as (i) complexity of navigating and coordinating stakeholder ecosystems, (ii) difficulty in changing user behaviors, (iii) barriers to scaling compelling solutions, (iv) introducing new capabilities and collaboration models through co-creation, and (v) strengthening strategy and implementation planning. Design can drive impact and serve as a complement to our existing programs and partners through accelerating human-centered innovation. For more information on the use of design in global health, see http://www.engagehcd.com/ and https://www.designforhealth.org/. The implementing partners of this mechanism are a consortium of Lunar, Veryday, Matchboxology, PATH, and McKinsey Digital Labs. These partners bring impressive expertise across the intersection of design and global health. Lunar, McKinsey Digital Labs, and Veryday are design studios within McKinsey&Company, and together, constitute one of the largest design firms globally. Matchboxology is Africa s first design firm with over a decade of public health and development experience in the continent. PATH is a trusted partner of governments and communities in 50+countries with a wealth of global health-centric design. STAR improves the effectivenes...s of global health programs worldwide by developing and strengthening the capacity of global health professionals by placing fellows and interns in external institutions, primarily in USAID-supported countries, and in USAID in partnership with academic and other institutions. STAR strengthens the technical and analytic professional cadre of human resources for global health by partnering with organizations of higher learning, development research, and/or health professional associations. Leveraging the expertise, resources, and partnerships of academic institutions and many other types of organizations, STAR contributes to strengthening institutions in developing countries that provide technical leadership and improve systems that promote technical collaboration across the global health community. STAR strengthens the pool of health professionals globally through field experience with developing country organizations, provides opportunities to diverse health professionals who mirror the populations USAID serves globally to build their skills and gain exposure to international health programs, and improves collaborative systems and long-term, sustainable partnerships for open exchange and utilization of information, knowledge, and educational resources to promote technical excellence and learning.
