Caritas-Rwanda will continue t...o improve the nutritional status of mothers and children (especially those under 2 years of age) through community-based interventions in nine districts. The project will seek to improve the well-being of HIV/AIDS-affected orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and improve the nutritional status of adults living with HIV through cooking demonstrations, nutrition assessments (anthropometric measurements) and nutrition counseling. Of the 73,482 people supported under this program, 14,416 are OVCs, 36,000 are children under five years, and 7,200 are pregnant and lactating women. The project uses cost effective community-based solutions like internal savings and loan groups, farmers field schools and the positive deviance hearth model to address nutritional and financial needs of beneficiaries, with emphasis on resilience and empowerment through economic strengthening, food security, nutrition and hygiene, and increased access to health services.

The Improved Services for Vuln...erable Populations (ISVP) Activity aims to improve the protection of vulnerable populations against adverse circumstances. Global Communities is implementing the Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations (ISVP) Program, which aims to assist 50,000 vulnerable households in 12 districts. Locally known as USAID Twiyubake, the program is designed to build and enhance lasting self-reliance in a way that promotes mutual support. The program objectives include increasing capacity of families and communities to provide better care for vulnerable individuals; improving household and community care and support practices for vulnerable populations, especially children; and increasing access to education and social services for vulnerable populations.

The "Integrated Health Service...s and Healthy Behaviors (ISD-HB)†project, also known as Neema, supports the Government of Senegal in its efforts to ensure that health services are improved in a sustainable manner and used effectively to reduce maternal, neonatal and child mortality and morbidity rates and contribute to the emergence of an AIDS-free generation. Implemented as part of USAID's Health Program 2016-2021, the Neema project is implemented by a consortium of NGOs led by IntraHealth International. The project combines support for service delivery in public health structures, community health system strengthening, the design, implementation of integrated communication strategies for social and behavior change (SBCC), research, monitoring and evaluation in priority health areas. The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) leads the SBCC component of the Neema project and will be hosting the student in the project office in Dakar.

The organisation uses its systems and experience from working with NGO sub-recipients to provide UGM partners with access to USAID funding for the scaling up of HIV services. Besides funding, Right to Care provides technical assistance and human capacity development through its existing extensive training programmes, mentorship programmes, and technical and clinical expertise. NGOs are assisted with project management, strategic planning, and programme design and development, so that they can implement effective services and meet targets.

The INROADS framework identifies five technical focus areas for data analysis, program evaluation, cost-effectiveness analysis, policy recommendations, and capacity strengthening.

The Migrants and Mobile Popula...tions HIV Prevention Program aims to reduce new HIV infections, vulnerability and risk amongst migrants and mobile populations and the communities they interact with by facilitating, promoting, and providing access to HIV and TB services, strengthening capacity, and advocating for migration policies. IOMs goals, objectives, and activities are fully aligned with the Partnership Framework and the NSP. The NSP includes migration issues as an HIV risk factor and migrants as a key population at risk. IOM implements evidence-based HIV prevention interventions targeting migrants and mobile population in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, and will extend support to Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, targeting migrants in hostels, migration centers, and high population density informal settlements.

Anova Health Institute (Anova)... provides TA and Health Systems Strengthening support within the Partnership Framework and NSP. Anova works in close partnership with the DOH in 3 provinces: Limpopo, Gauteng and Western Cape, encompassing over 5 million people (10% of the population). Target populations include: women, children, groups with highest HIV prevalence, least access to health care, and key populations such as men who have sex with men and sex workers. Target populations include: women, children, groups with highest HIV prevalence, least access to health care, and key populations such as men who have sex with men and sex workers. BroadReach Healthcare has been... awarded a five year cooperative agreement by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the South African Department of Health in strengthening systems and mechanisms that will improve patient outcomes by delivering quality HIV and TB services sustainably.
