Addressing The Gap In Humanita...rian Response (Sprint) Phase Ii Program
more
|
International Planned Parentho...od Federation (IPPF) SPRINT Stage 2 is designed to address sexual and reproductive health gaps in minimum standards and increase access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for people in crisis and post-crisis situations. This initiative builds on the work of SPRINT Stage 1 with a more refined set of objectives and greater focus on Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Preparedness and targets the reduction of death and disability among women of reproductive age in developing countries (contributing to the health related MDGs 4, 5 and 6). The design is narrowed to focus on a set number of priority countries in each geographic region. This will provide for more in-depth technical support and funding based on identified needs in the area of emergency preparedness, response and early recovery. The total value of this initiative is $10.0 million over 3 years, starting 2011-12.

General budget support to co-finance the poverty strategy, as well as support for public financial management, public procurement reforms and monitoring and evaluation of the poverty strategy,2. Support for administrative reforms,3. Support for decentralisation. On the basis of a UFT review in May 2011, which took place following the decision on phasing out the aid cooperation between Denmark and Benin, support for public reforms and general budget support has been completed by the end of 2011.At the end of 2012, the remaining activities related to the following will be completed:(i) public procurement procedures,(ii) public financial management,(iii) monitoring and evaluation of the poverty strategy, (iv) decentralisation (delegated partnership with Germany)
