Agir pour la Planification Fam...iliale (AGIR-PF)
more
|
Agir pour la Planification Fam...iliale (AgirPF) is designed to expand women's access to and use of family planning services in five West African countries: Burkina Faso, Cte d'Ivoire, Mauritania, Niger, and Togo. By expanding access to, strengthening demand for, and improving the quality of family planning services, AgirPF will increase informed decision making about family planning and broaden voluntary use. Through our partnerships at the local and national government levels, as well as with our nongovernmental organization partners, we will provide a wide range of family planning services, including integrating family planning with maternal, neonatal, child health services, and services for youth and men.- See more at: http://www.engenderhealth.org/our-work/major-projects/agir-pf.php#sthash.rERNH0gt.dpuf

|
The Knowledge for Health (K4He...alth) Project is the flagship health knowledge management project of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The current iteration of the Knowledge for Health (K4Health) Project is the latest in a lineage of reproductive health knowledge-sharing projects which began over 40 years ago. K4Health's focus is on social knowledge management for family planning and reproductive health. The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) manages the project in partnership with the Global Health Bureau at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). IntraHealth International joins longtime collaborators FHI 360 and Management Sciences for Health as partners with JHUCCP.

MATERNAL AND CHILD SURVIVAL PR...OGRAM (MCSP - FORMERLY RMNCH)
more
|
Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH)
more
|
The United States Agency for I...nternational Development's (USAID) Bureau for Global Health's flagship Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) focuses on 25 high-priority countries with the ultimate goal of preventing child and maternal deaths. The Program is introducing and supporting high-impact, sustainable reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) interventions in partnership with ministries of health and other partners. MCSP places a greater emphasis on key cross-cutting issues such as innovation, e/mHealth, equity, quality, gender, public-private partnerships and involvement of civil society, community approaches, health systems strengthening, and behavior change interventions. While maintaining a focus on technical, high-impact interventions; the Program works toward sustainable scale-up to include the health systems that deliver these interventions. In addition to contributing to high-level technical and policy dialogue at the global level, the Program provides tailored technical assistance to help countries meet specific priorities and contextual needs of local RMNCH programs.

INTRO AND SCALE UP PLANNING
|
Intro and Scale Up Planning
|
Human-centered design (HCD) pl...aces the target population and other important stakeholders at the center of the design and implementation process. HCD was developed in the private sector to integrate business and technology around human needs. There are two ways to leverage HCD in global health development work: designing for user needs (target the right user group for an offering or intervention, drive the adoption and scale-up of new health behaviors, and rapidly conceptualize, prototype, and test new interventions and ensure they are viable for the provider) and improving collaboration across diverse stakeholders (establish and communicate a shared mission and vision across stakeholders, create and promote methods within teams for increased collaboration, and improve data usage to support shared decision-making). Examples of this work include: driving demand for the use of chlorhexidine, and increasing the uptake of the dapivarine ring.

|
Regional Action Through Data (...RAD) will improve health and development outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa by changing how and why data is collected and analyzed to achieve results. Activities include (1) regional level: equip and empower stakeholders with evidence-based analytics to drive policy, strategy, program development, and resource allocation; (2) patient/provider level: focus on cross-border populations by implementing a cloud-based personal electronic health record system, integrating cross-border data collection to ensure quality and continuity of patient care regardless of their location.

Systems for Improved Access to... Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS)
more
|
SIAPS focuses on enhancing pha...rmaceutical services through patientcentered solutions while continuing to support essential supply chain functions and medical products supply security. The SIAPS goal is to support the achievement of improved and sustained health outcomes by applying a systems strengthening approach consistent with the Global Health Initiative (GHI) principles. The SIAPS result areas address the intersections of five health systems components as they pertain to pharmaceutical services (governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery) in the design of potential interventions to ensure that they respond to health element and cross cutting concerns in support of health system strengthening.

From 2011 to 2018, the USAID-funded Systems for Improved Access to Pharmaceuticals and Services (SIAPS) Program worked to ensure equitable, affordable access to safe, quality-assured medicines and related services in 46 countries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Oceania.
The SIAPS pharmaceutical systems strengthening approach included local counterparts and partners in addressing five interrelated health system functions—governance, human resources, information, financing, and service delivery—with a focus on medicines.
The program tackled systemic deficiencies, going beyond the selection, procurement, and distribution of pharmaceutical products to include dispensing and supplying pharmaceuticals to individuals and providing medication-related information and counseling. Treatment focused on critical health areas, such as family planning, HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal and child health, tuberculosis, and neglected tropical diseases and, more recently, Ebola.

|

COMPREHENSIVE PLATFORM FOR INT...EGRATED COMMUNICATION INITIATIVE (CPICI)

Comprehensive Platform for Int...egrated Communication Initiative (CPICI)
more
|
The goal of the Comprehensive ...Platform for Integrated Communications Initiative (CPICI) Cooperative Agreement is to support the Recipient's interventions and collaboration with the Government of Tanzania (GOT) to improve the health status especially of women and youth. The purpose is to support the Recipient's program to foster positive health practices in households and communities through changes in social and cultural norms that will enable and maintain these practices. Specifically, USAID intends to support interventions consistent with a strategic approach of using social behavior change communication interventions to improve the health of Tanzanians, demonstrating a clear link between program interventions and health status outcomes. USAID seeks to support a program where messages are tailored to geographic, epidemiological and audience segments at the regional level. Because regional radio programs have proven successful in the past, USAID seeks to support a program that incorporates this type of radio as a core media channel. Beyond traditional media, USAID seeks to support a program that is expected to use innovative techniques and mobile technologies to support program quality, reach, and effectiveness.
