O objectivo deste Manual é proporcionar ferramentas padronizadas de saúde pública para a implementação de acções de prevenção, controlo e resposta a um surto de cólera e assim contribuir para a redução da morbimortalidade por esta doença.
Estas diretrizes são destinada...s a todos os profissionais de saúde que têm a responsabilidade de lidar com a cólera desde o nível nacional, as províncias e distritos, até ao nível de unidade sanitária. Inclusivamente, também é destinado as organizações não-governamentais e outros parceiros que apoiam o país nas actividades de resposta contra a cólera, e devem ser usadas para apoiar a elaboração de planos de preparação para a prevenção, controle e de resposta a uma epidemia de cólera.

El Niño conditions persisting during the 2015/16 planting season have caused the worst drought in 35 years in Southern Africa, resulting in a second consecutive failed harvest. This has created severe food shortages and compounded existing vulnerabilities. Since July 2016, Namibia and Botswana have... declared national drought emergencies, in addition to the declarations made earlier by Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Madagascar issued a letter of solidarity with the SADC Appeal, and Mozambique has maintained a red alert in affected areas.

Cette version révisée et actualisée de l’ouvrage incorpore l’expérience acquise lors de catastrophes récentes, comme le typhon Haiyan qui a touché les Philippines en 2013, l’épidémie d’Ebola qui s’est déclarée en Afrique de l’Ouest en 2014 et 2015, et le tremblement de terre qui a frappé le Népal en 2015. Elle comporte également plusieurs annexes traitant de diverses questions, telles que la prise en charge des dépouilles des victimes d’une épidémie de maladie infectieuse, la planification des sites d’inhumation et l’utilisation des analyses ADN lors de catastrophes de grande ampleur.

The analyzed area is located approximately 30 km north of the 16 April 2016 Muisne earthquake mainshock epicenter. This analysis is carried out using Pléiades satellite image acquired 20 A...pril 2016 and a WorldView-3 image acquired 12 March 2016. UNITAR-UNOSAT identified 450 potentially damaged structures of which 139 are destroyed, 206 severely damaged, and 105 moderately damaged. This guidance document is meant to support practitioners working in disaster prone contexts to develop and implement more effective integrated resilience programming. It promotes programming that cuts across different fields of work like rights awareness, food security, emergency preparedness, livel...ihoods, education, health etc. whilst at the same time encouraging us to work simultaneously at the individual, household, community and national level. It includes specific recommendations for developing resilience programming for communities prone to floods, cyclone, drought and earthquakes. It also includes recommendations to develop safe school programming to help reduce the impact of disasters on school infrastructure, ensure education continuity and build the resilience of students, teachers and their families.
