more
TMEC: Meeting Targets and Main...taining Epidemic Control (EpiC)
more
Meeting Targets and Maintainin...g Epidemic Control (TMEC) will help meet or exceed PEPFAR targets for reaching adults, key, and priority populations by finding those who have not yet been identified as positive, linking those who are positive to treatment, and by keeping those on treatment virally suppressed. This mechanism will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that host government health systems and host countries in general are able to maintain program gains with appropriately decreasing dependence on PEPFAR/USAID. EpiC can support USAID's response to address COVID-19, by preventing, preparing for, responding to, and bolstering health systems to address COVID-19 and re-emergence. Within the scope, EpiC can support Pillar 2 activities, including emergency health response, strengthening global health security in affected countries, and health systems support.

AKSE (Aksyon Kolektif pou Seki...rite kont Eksplwatasyon - Health Policy Project)
more
The Health Policy Project (HPP...) works to strengthen developing country national and subnational policy, advocacy, governance, and finance for strategic, equitable, and sustainable health programming. HPP helps countries bring about real change in the health of people and communities. We work with in-country partners to sustain commitment to and ownership of policy responses that support improvements in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), HIV, and maternal health.
more
Globally, HPP contributes to i...mproved health outcomes through strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of health systems in a multi-sectoral context. HPP focuses on the policy aspects of health and other social sectors, often in a multi-sectoral context. We also assist countries to improve health outcomes by addressing barriers due to gender inequalities, socioeconomic status, stigma and discrimination, operational issues, and other factors that prevent people from seeking the health and related social services they need. Throughout our work, we are committed to encouraging in-country capacity for policy, advocacy, governance, and finance. For additional information on HPP see www.healthpolicyproject.com. (https://jobpaw.com/public/detailsjob.php?idjob=5595)
In Haiti, HPP has been asked to implement the USAID-funded for the Aksyon Kolektif pou Sekirite kont Eksplwatasyon (AKSE) Program which supports a multi-sectoral approach to strengthen the Haitian environment for human rights in general and for vulnerable populations, in particular, children, women, and sexual minorities. AKSE was previously implemented by CARE International. HPP will build on the work of the previous project from March 2014 through at least September 2015, with potential for extension.

MEASURING THE HEALTHINESS OF G...HANAIAN CHILDREN'S FOOD ENVIRONMENTS TO PREVENT OBESITY AND NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
more
Measuring the healthiness of G...hanaian children's food environments to prevent obesity and non-communicable diseases
more
Non-communicable diseases (NCD...s) represent the leading cause of death globally and were responsible for 70% of the world's 56 million deaths in 2015. In some African countries, NCDs cause more than 50% of all reported adult deaths. In Ghana, that figure was 44%. In recognition of this increasing burden, Ghana has published a national NCD prevention policy and accompanying strategy, which recognize interventions to promote healthy diets as crucial. Specifically, there are recent indications from local policymakers in Ghana that tackling unhealthy food promotion and improving food provision would be the most likely actions to address the problem of obesity and NCD risk factors, especially in children and adolescents. These policymakers, however, acknowledge that food environment-related responses to NCD prevention are hampered by scarce resources, paucity of data, and lack of appropriate policies and interventions in Ghana. Focusing on restricting unhealthy food marketing to children and improving school nutrition environments, this project will adapt approaches developed by the International Network for Food and Obesity NCDs Research Monitoring and Action Support for Ghana to measure, benchmark, and support public sector actions that create healthy food marketing and provision environments for children and adolescents.
