|
RISE, a 5-year global project ...funded by the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), works with countries to achieve a shared vision of attaining and maintaining epidemic control, with stronger local partners capable of managing and achieving results through sustainable, self-reliant, and resilient health systems by 2024. RISEs contributions to this work will lead to fewer new HIV infections, decreased HIV-related morbidity and mortality, and increased quality of life for people living with HIV. With USAID PEPFAR investments, RISE supports countries to achieve and maintain epidemic control by providing strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to improve HIV prevention, case finding, treatment programming, and viral load suppression.

HIV Sustainability and Human R...ights for Central America project
more
|
The HIV Sustainability and Hum...an Rights for Central America project is a regional grant funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The project supports government and nongovernmental partners across Central America to achieve sustainable HIV epidemic control, while improving the human rights environment through the reduction of stigma and discrimination. The response will focus on policy-level interventions, ensuring that governments are able to credibly budget for impending decreases in donor funding and also take into account the needs and opinions of vulnerable populations when prioritizing funds. Working with diverse country stakeholders using strategic information and the principles of gender equity and human rights, the project seeks to catalyze country leadership and commitment to secure long-term financing; implement sustainable policies; and reduce stigma and discrimination against key populations in order to achieve sustainable HIV epidemic control. The HIV Sustainability and Human Rights for Central America project promotes gender equality, with specific cross-cutting focus on gender sensitivity and understanding. Along with support from key regional governments, the project will be implemented by Plan with partners Results for Development (R4D) and Internews. National implementation will be carried out according to the needs of each country, while leveraging the strength of Central American entities that support the region's efforts in order to sustain the response to control the epidemic.

AKSE (Aksyon Kolektif pou Seki...rite kont Eksplwatasyon - Health Policy Project)
more

The Health Policy Project (HPP...) works to strengthen developing country national and subnational policy, advocacy, governance, and finance for strategic, equitable, and sustainable health programming. HPP helps countries bring about real change in the health of people and communities. We work with in-country partners to sustain commitment to and ownership of policy responses that support improvements in family planning and reproductive health (FP/RH), HIV, and maternal health.
more
|
Globally, HPP contributes to i...mproved health outcomes through strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of health systems in a multi-sectoral context. HPP focuses on the policy aspects of health and other social sectors, often in a multi-sectoral context. We also assist countries to improve health outcomes by addressing barriers due to gender inequalities, socioeconomic status, stigma and discrimination, operational issues, and other factors that prevent people from seeking the health and related social services they need. Throughout our work, we are committed to encouraging in-country capacity for policy, advocacy, governance, and finance. For additional information on HPP see www.healthpolicyproject.com. (https://jobpaw.com/public/detailsjob.php?idjob=5595)
In Haiti, HPP has been asked to implement the USAID-funded for the Aksyon Kolektif pou Sekirite kont Eksplwatasyon (AKSE) Program which supports a multi-sectoral approach to strengthen the Haitian environment for human rights in general and for vulnerable populations, in particular, children, women, and sexual minorities. AKSE was previously implemented by CARE International. HPP will build on the work of the previous project from March 2014 through at least September 2015, with potential for extension.

HEALTH CARE IMPROVEMENT
|
Health Care Improvement
|
The Health Care Improvement Pr...oject worked to improve essential obstetric and newborn services at the health facility and community levels. The project sought to reduce maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality through the application of effective quality improvement approaches to services ranging from antenatal to postnatal care and family planning services, including institutionalizing active management of the third stage of labor (AMTSL). The USAID Mission in Mali engaged URC to work in three additional areas: management of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, maternal anemia, and family planning counseling and post-partum care.
