SUPPORT TO THE IMPT
Support to the IMPT
The Initiative for Multipurpos...e Prevention Technologies (IMPT) works to advance the development of products that simultaneously address the interconnected risks of HIV, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and unintended pregnancy. Comprised of members from across disciplines and more than 15 countries, the IMPT is the central body that researchers, product developers, funders, policymakers, and advocates rely on for objective technical guidance and strategic planning related to MPTs. By facilitating interdisciplinary partnerships, the IMPT enables experts from across the family planning, HIV, and STI fields to strategize around the unique technological, market access, and regulatory challenges presented by developing combined prevention, thus refining the pathway to impactful MPT development. The objective of the project is to support the IMPT Secretariat in its role as the product-neutral coordinator of the MPT field.

RISE, a 5-year global project ...funded by the U.S. Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), works with countries to achieve a shared vision of attaining and maintaining epidemic control, with stronger local partners capable of managing and achieving results through sustainable, self-reliant, and resilient health systems by 2024. RISEs contributions to this work will lead to fewer new HIV infections, decreased HIV-related morbidity and mortality, and increased quality of life for people living with HIV. With USAID PEPFAR investments, RISE supports countries to achieve and maintain epidemic control by providing strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to improve HIV prevention, case finding, treatment programming, and viral load suppression.

TMEC: Meeting Targets and Main...taining Epidemic Control (EpiC)

Meeting Targets and Maintainin...g Epidemic Control (TMEC) will help meet or exceed PEPFAR targets for reaching adults, key, and priority populations by finding those who have not yet been identified as positive, linking those who are positive to treatment, and by keeping those on treatment virally suppressed. This mechanism will work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that host government health systems and host countries in general are able to maintain program gains with appropriately decreasing dependence on PEPFAR/USAID. EpiC can support USAID's response to address COVID-19, by preventing, preparing for, responding to, and bolstering health systems to address COVID-19 and re-emergence. Within the scope, EpiC can support Pillar 2 activities, including emergency health response, strengthening global health security in affected countries, and health systems support.
