EFFICIENCIES FOR CLINICAL HIV ...OUTCOMES (ECHO) ACTIVITY IN MOZAMBIQUE
more

Efficiencies for Clinical HIV ...Outcomes (ECHO) Activity in Mozambique
more
|
The goal of the Efficiencies f...or Clinical HIV Outcomes (ECHO) activity is to support the Government of Mozambiques (GRM) achievement of HIV/AIDS epidemic control and establishing a sustainable, government-led HIV response by 2023 in provinces where USAID is the primary clinical support partner. ECHO will focus on 5 objectives. In close partnership with the GRM, MISAU and partner DPS authorities and using PEPFARs technical considerations ECHO will: 1) Strengthen the essential public health services necessary for HIV epidemic control at the national, provincial and district level to ensure long-term sustainability of the HIV response. 2) Reach 95% HIV treatment coverage in designated geographic regions in Mozambique by the end of the activity. 3) Reach at least 95% viral suppression among people receiving antiretroviral therapy and maintain this level of suppression during the life of the activity in designated geographic regions in Mozambique; 4) Ensure that Mozambique is utilizing the latest evidence for rapid scale up and maintenance of effective HIV interventions, ECHO will routinely review global experience and annually adjust, adopt, and implement priority interventions; and 5) Generate evidence and provide the GRM with data, measured findings, and recommendations necessary to make key service delivery decisions supporting the achievement of Mozambiques annual targets for epidemic control.

MATERNAL AND CHILD SURVIVAL PR...OGRAM (MCSP - FORMERLY RMNCH)
more
|
Maternal and Child Survival Pr...ogram (MCSP - formerly RMNCH)
more
|
The United States Agency for I...nternational Developments (USAID) Bureau for Global Healths flagship Maternal and Child Survival Program (MCSP) focuses on 25 high-priority countries with the ultimate goal of preventing child and maternal deaths. The Program is introducing and supporting high-impact, sustainable reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health (RMNCH) interventions in partnership with ministries of health and other partners. MCSP places a greater emphasis on key cross-cutting issues such as innovation, e/mHealth, equity, quality, gender, public-private partnerships and involvement of civil society, community approaches, health systems strengthening, and behavior change interventions. While maintaining a focus on technical, high-impact interventions; the Program works toward sustainable scale-up to include the health systems that deliver these interventions. In addition to contributing to high-level technical and policy dialogue at the global level, the Program provides tailored technical assistance to help countries meet specific priorities and contextual needs of local RMNCH programs.

Strengthening the Public Finan...cial Management (PFM) Systems
more
|
This contract will operational...ize the Mission's Country Development Cooperation Strategy by supporting collaboration among targeted government ministries, local government bodies, USAID, and other donors. Activities will include targeted technical and organizational capacity building to strengthen the Government of Nepal's (GON) ability to meet demands for increased and improved public services. The activities will address issues of transparency, reporting and public financial management, especially targeted at good governance interventions impacting Presidential Initiative programming. Using technical assistance for targeted GON Ministries and their sub-national representatives, the governance activities will focus on capacity building and service delivery, while supplementing the reach of the current democracy and governance portfolio. The activity will be based on a targeted Ministry-level Public Financial Management Risk Assessment Framework conducted in 2012-2013. These assessments, including for Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP) and Ministry of Education (MOE), laid the foundation for future investments in building the capacity of targeted Ministry's financial and administrative processes by revealing several major areas of need. These gaps include critical deficiencies in the areas of: budget execution; procurement; ordering of goods and services and payment of invoices; performance; external audit; and the control environment.Strengthening PFM project will support building the capacity of targeted Government of Nepal (GON) Ministries to improve transparency and accountability of public financial management (PFM) systems.

Sustaining Technical and Analy...tic Resources (STAR)
more
|
STAR improves the effectivenes...s of global health programs worldwide by developing and strengthening the capacity of global health professionals by placing fellows and interns in external institutions, primarily in USAID-supported countries, and in USAID in partnership with academic and other institutions. STAR strengthens the technical and analytic professional cadre of human resources for global health by partnering with organizations of higher learning, development research, and/or health professional associations. Leveraging the expertise, resources, and partnerships of academic institutions and many other types of organizations, STAR contributes to strengthening institutions in developing countries that provide technical leadership and improve systems that promote technical collaboration across the global health community. STAR strengthens the pool of health professionals globally through field experience with developing country organizations, provides opportunities to diverse health professionals who mirror the populations USAID serves globally to build their skills and gain exposure to international health programs, and improves collaborative systems and long-term, sustainable partnerships for open exchange and utilization of information, knowledge, and educational resources to promote technical excellence and learning.

|
|
