Pour cette raison, des scientifiques d'institutions de recherche, des programmes nationaux de lutte contre le paludisme et de l'OMS se sont réunis en Juin 2008, à Libreville (Gabon) pour élaborer le premier projet de document intitulé «procédures opérationnelles standardisées (SOP) pour la surveillance des vecteurs dans le cadre de la surveillance intégrée des maladies et la gestion intégrée des vecteurs ».
