limate catastrophe is still open but closing rapidly. Financing gaps for sustainable development are large and growing – the estimates by international organizations and others are coalescing around $4 trillion additional investment needed annually for developing countries. This represents a more than 50% increase over the pre-pandemic estimates. Meanwhile, the finance divide has not been bridged, with developing countries paying around twice as much on average in interest on their total sovereign debt stock as developed countries. Many countries lack access to affordable finance or are in debt distress. Weak enabling environments are preventing progress. Average global growth has declined, while policy and regulatory frameworks still do not set appropriate incentives. Public budgets and spending is not fully aligned with SDGs. Private investors are not incentivised to invest enough in SDGs and climate action. The world is at a crossroads. This is the last chance to correct course if we want to achieve the SDGs by the 2030 deadline. Only an urgent, large-scale and sustainable investment push can help us achieve our global goals. Next year’s Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development in 2025 will be a once in 80-year opportunity to support coherent transformation of financing.

It is intended for health promotion officers, drug regulators, communication specialists and global health partners. Drawing heavily on experiences in Nigeria, the I-Kit promotes evidence-based, context-sensitive SBCC interventions to safeguard communities against SSFFC malaria medicines and enhance treatment outcomes.

auteure part du constat que, malgré l’introduction de la CPS dans certaines régions camerounaises, sa mise en œuvre reste confrontée à une faible appropriation communautaire, à des résistances sociales et à un manque de communication adaptée.
L’objectif du travail est de concevoir une stratégie de communication sociale et comportementale visant à renforcer l’adhésion des communautés à cette intervention. Le mémoire s’appuie sur une analyse situationnelle approfondie, intégrant des données épidémiologiques, socioculturelles et communicationnelles. Il propose ensuite une campagne ciblée, articulée autour de messages clairs, de canaux adaptés (radios communautaires, agents de santé, leaders locaux) et de supports visuels compréhensibles.
La campagne vise à sensibiliser les parents, en particulier les mères, sur les avantages de la CPS, à corriger les fausses croyances, à encourager l’observance du traitement, et à renforcer la confiance envers les agents communautaires. Le document inclut un plan opérationnel, des outils de suivi-évaluation et une stratégie de pérennisation.
En conclusion, le mémoire souligne l’importance d’une communication contextualisée et participative pour améliorer la couverture et l’efficacité de la chimio-prévention du paludisme chez les enfants au Cameroun.

Se concibió un modelo analítico que proyecta los efectos macroeconómicos de las ENT y los problemas de salud mental durante el período 2020-2050 en 10 países de América del Sur: Argentina, Bolivia (Estado Plurinacional de), Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela (República Bolivariana de). Los resultados revelan que el impacto macroeconómico de las ENT y los problemas de salud mental en América del Sur se traduce en déficits económicos importantes. En términos generales, la pérdida total de PIB en América del Sur asciende a US$ 7,3 billones (US$ internacionales del 2022) en el período 2020-2050, lo que equivale al 4% del PIB total de la región. Economic modelling shows that achieving the Sustainable Development Goal target of reducing malaria incidence by 90% by 2030 could generate substantial economic benefits, including an increase in GDP of $142.7 billion in endemic countries and $80.7 billion in global trade gains. To save lives, strengthen health systems, and drive sustainable economic growth, renewed investments in malaria control and elimination programmes, vaccine deployment, and coordinated international support are essential.

Achieving malaria elimination in the SADC region requires harmonised regional standards, strengthened surveillance, and improved access to quality treatment and policy prioritisation.
