RehApp

Plan International, Enablement Netherlands and Verheul Content en Creatie, (2019)


he RehApp is specifically designed for fieldworkers in low-and middle-income countries and aims to enhance their capacity to work with people with disabilities within the community: assess their abilities and inabilities, design rehabilitation interventions, provide care and support and refer appropriately. It consists of different chapters – covering various types of impairments – organised according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, commonly known as the ICF. The RehApp is available for free, and once downloaded, it can be used in any setting without internet access. The chapters on Amputation, Burns, Clubfoot, Leprosy, Low Vision and Spinal Cord Injury are already available. The chapter on Spinal Cord Injury is now also available in Portuguese

TThis manual aims to increase knowledge and skills in caring for a child with cerebral palsy. Research highlighted the significant needs of the caregivers, and how they can gain a huge amount of support from meeting with each other in an understanding environment. It promotes a participatory learning approach with an emphasis on working with groups and the empowerment of parents and caregivers. Download the manual and teaching materials for free, in English, French, Arabic or Spanish. A Chichewa (Malawi) version is also ready for sharing and the manual is being translated in a variety of other languages through the online community Working in the Community with Children with Cerebral Palsy
