Highlights from the 30 highest TB burden countries
Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health challenge, with an estimated annual death rate of approximately one per 100,000 people in countries with low TB prevalence. Rapid reductions in TB cases and deaths worldwide depend on research breakthroughs, including the development of new vac...cines. There has recently been an increase in political commitment, as evidenced by two UN high-level meetings on TB in 2018 and 2023. The 2023 political declaration reaffirmed the goals set out in the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the WHO's End TB Strategy, and established new targets for the period 2023–2027

Disability inclusive shelter programming enables persons with disabilities to contribute more to their communities, participate more in consultations and decision-making, and facilitate their own protection. By engaging persons with disabilities in the process, we will also improve the outcomes for persons with disabilities.
The disability community has the slogan “Nothing about us without us,” reminding that we should include and work with persons with disabilities and their representative groups rather than plan or make decisions on their behalf. Persons with disabilities should be engaged throughout shelter programme planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

It provides clear roles for health workers at the different levels of our devolved system which will ensure a harmonized referral system with basic cardiovascular diseases treatment services available closest to the people while decongesting the county and national referral facilities.
